We can’t blame them, it’s in their nature.
Their ancestors always slept outside, in all weathers. By running circles in place, they crushed grass, leaves, or snow to create a warm and secure, flat, and soft nest for sleeping.
And when it was warm, their ancestors dug holes, so the cool earth or wet sand brought coolness to their bellies. That sleeps a lot better!
